Prayer

Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well.
And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven. -James 5:13-15

August 27 Prayer Requests

This morning around 2, Gene H. went to his heavenly reward. He went peacefully in his sleep. Please pray for Irene and the family as they prepare for Thursday's funeral and as they wait for their heavenly reunion.

Also, please pray for the families of Gunde L. and Emma S. who also died this week. As well, I just got news that Geri, who we had been praying for, died Saturday, so please pray for her family and for Monica N, as she leads a memorial service on Wednesday.

Our other prayer requests are as follows:
  • Nick K: recovering from apendectomy
  • Homer G: blood sugar tests this week
  • Mary Jo Z: surgery Thursday
  • Irene H: cataract procedure next week
  • Milo Keith: hospitalized with shortness of breath
  • Angie K: cancer
  • Scott M.
  • Donna, Lucy, and Margaret (@ Luther Pines)
  • Lisa N's neice, Amy W
  • Case V

Please pray for Mitch A, as he assumes interim pastoral leadership for two small churches in Dunkirk, Ohio. He will be preaching there for 6-9 months.

Please pray for our church as we prepare for our 40 days of seeking the Heartbeat of God, starting in October. Pray that the right people step up to lead discipleship groups and that the right people commit to daily devotions and discipleship, that this opportunity won't slip by us and that we will be transformed through it.
