Prayer

Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well.
And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven. -James 5:13-15

Back to School and More Prayers

School is back in session, and this is a key mission field right in our midst. Our Christian students, teachers, volunteers, administrators, coaches, and others can (and do) make eternal differences in the lives of those they come into contact with every day. Please pray for them, that they would have Christ's heart for the lost, that they would have courage to share their faith, and that they would have sensitivity to how the Spirit leads them.

Please join me in prayer for our schools. One way I like to pray for the NK school is by physically walking around the school building and praying for everyone and everything that the Holy Spirit brings to my heart as I circle the school. If you are looking for some prayer time and are also wanting to exercise, why not multi-task and prayer walk?

I also have several prayer requests to update:
  • Gene H has taken a turn for the worse. He has been unable to even get out of bed. Please keep him in your prayers. Pray for Irene's strength and courage to get through this time and the time to come. She knows that Gene's time here on earth is short, she knows where he's going, and she knows that one day they will be reunited in Heaven, but it's the in-between time that's so difficult.
  • The three women from Luther Pines that Monica brought up in prayers are all deteriorating quickly. Please pray for Geri (who the doctors are just trying to make comfortable), Lucy (whose doctor told her she's dying), and Donna (who is a good friend of Lucy and Geri and who has myriad problems herself).
  • Pray for the family of Emma S, who passed away this week after an illness (also a resident of Luther Pines).
